Vegetable plots

This time of the year is great for planting and sowing, and today we created a vegetable plot from a patch of dirt and grass. Hopefully within a couple of weeks there will be peas, carrots, radishes, several types of lettuces and potatoes pushing their way up through the ground.  We chose one of the sunniest spots in this garden to site the veg patch, there are few veg that like shade, but that does mean that your crops need to be within reach of the hose as things like peas and spinach are thirsty. - You don't have to plant all in straight parallel rows, - try sowing lines in parallel diagonals, and creating squares and triangles with plants, that way you get an attractive as well as edible border,
