Pink flower buds, - Lilac or a Silly Question?
Garden Bloggers Bloom Day, flowering in my garden May 10

Plant Sale - West Horsley, Saturday 15th May 2-4pm

As you may know, i'm a bit of a plant fan, and I do tend to have rather a lot of propagated plants sitting around the garden in pots, waiting.

They are collected from all over the place. - Seedlings that i've grown on, plants propagated from clients gardens, excess plant buying from nursery's (yes it does happen even to professionals!).

While some of them are destined for my garden borders, they all need a home, this season. As a lot of them aren't at Nursery quality, I can't sell them on to my clients, even if they are varieties that would suit gardens i'm working in.

While a lot of my friends and neighbours are very glad of plants given out, at this time of year I have another cunning plan to get rid of more of them. - Plant Sales

This Saturday 15th May is the West Horsley Horticultural Society Plant Sale, in the Village Hall. Entry to this annual event is 50p or, 3 plants per person. The last couple of years, my in-laws have been around on this weekend, so i've managed to get rid of 15 plants on entry!

Of course the only problem is that these shows have some great goodies from other local gardens (which often means that they will survive well in yours). Last year I came away with this fantastic Osmunda Regalis

and this lovely mini Hosta (complete with recycled milk bottle label)

Now what shall I use for entry tomorrow, - Achillia ptarmica the Pearl, Aster, Oesteospermums, Anemone, Iris, Sedums, Verbascum, Tomato plants?

And the big question is, will I buy more plants than I give in, - and will I find homes for them all?
